राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने अपने ट्विटर हैन्डल पर एक वीडियो शेयर कर जानकारी दी कि देश के नए चीफ जस्टिस ने शपथ ग्रहण कर लिया है। उन्होंने लिखा, “भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति उदय उमेश ललित का शपथ ग्रहण समारोह।” इस दौरान देश के प्रधानमंत्री, पूर्व राष्ट्रपति व कई बड़े दिग्गज मौजूद रहे। राष्ट्रपति की अनुमति के बाद ये समारोह शुरू हुआ और राष्ट्रपति ने ही उन्हें ये शपथ ग्रहण करवाया।
3 पीढ़ियां होंगी शपथ ग्रहण में शामिल
दरअसल, जस्टिस उदय उमेश ललित के दादा, रंगनाथ ललित, भारत की आजादी से बहुत पहले सोलापुर में एक वकील थे। उनके 90 वर्षीय उदय आर. ललित अपने मुंबई में में एक वकील के रूप में लंबे करियर के बाद बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट के जज के रूप में कार्य किया। आज शपथ ग्रहण में उनके पिता उमेश रंगनाथ ललित भी शामिल हुए।
इसके अलावा जस्टिस ललित की पत्नी अमिता ललित और उनके दो बेटे, हर्षद और श्रेयश भी शपथ ग्रहण में मौजूद रहे। उनकी पत्नी , नोएडा में एक स्कूल चलाती हैं। उनके दोनों बेटों ने इंजीनियरिंग की पढ़ाई की है, लेकिन श्रेयश ललित ने बाद में कानून की लाइन में एंट्री ले ली। श्रेयश की पत्नी रवीना भी वकील हैं। हर्षद ललित बतौर रिसर्चर काम करते हैं और अपनी पत्नी राधिका के साथ अमेरिका में रहते हैं।
कैसा रहा कार्यकाल?
बता दें कि 1980 के दशक में जस्टिस यूयू ललित पहली बार दिल्ली आए थे जहां उन्होंने करीब साढ़े पांच वर्ष तक के अटॉर्नी जनरल सोली सोराबजी के चैंबर में काम किया। महाराष्ट्र के जस्टिस ललित ने 1983 में वकालत की शुरुआत बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट से की थी। इसके बाद वो 1986 में दिल्ली में शिफ्ट हो गए थे। इसके बाद जल्द ही आपराधिक मामले उनकी ताकत बन गए, और वे सर्वोच्च न्यायालय में एक नामित वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता के रूप में उभरे। उनका पहला बड़ा आपराधिक केस जनरल वैद्य हत्याकांड था। 13 अगस्त 2014 को उन्हें एक वकील से सीधे सुप्रीम कोर्ट का जज बनाया गया था।
