विभाग ने श्रेणीवार पेयजल व अन्य श्रेणी के उपभोक्ताओं के हिसाब से दरें बढ़ाने का विस्तृत प्रस्ताव तैयार किया है। अब 23 अप्रेल को विभाग के अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव सुधांश पंत इस प्रस्ताव पर अधिकारियों से चर्चा करेंगे। हालांकि अंतिम निर्णय सरकार करेगी। गौरतलब है कि वर्ष 2017 में विभाग ने आदेश जारी कर पानी की दरें हर साल 10 प्रतिशत तक बढ़ाने का प्रावधान किया था।
