समाजसेवी यूनुस खान ने बताया वे मॉर्निंग वॉक के दौरान रेलवे कॉलोनी से होकर गुजरते है । उन्होंने बताया वे कई दिनों से इस कॉलोनी में पानी की व्यर्थ बर्बादी को देख रहे थे । इस सम्बंध में उन्होंने कॉलोनी के वाशिंदों को आगाह भी किया लेकिन किसी के कानों जूं तक नही रेंगी । कॉलोनी के हर एक घर से पानी की पाइप से प्रतिदिन हजारों लीटर पानी की बर्बादी हो रही है । अगर पूरी कॉलोनी की बात करे तो प्रतिदिन लाखों लीटर स्वच्छ पीने योग्य पानी व्यर्थ बह रहा है । लेकिन मजाल है इस बर्बादी पर किसी का ध्यान गया हो कॉलोनी वाशिंदों की बात ही छोड़ो,रेलवे प्रशासन ने भी आंखों पर पट्टी बांध रखी है । ऐसा नही है कि यह घोर लापरवाही सिर्फ एक या दो दिनों से है,बल्कि काफी समय से जस की तस पड़ी है । ऐसे में अगर इस लापरवाही का कोई दोषी है तो वो रेलवे प्रशासन हैं क्योंकि इस कॉलोनी को रेलवे के अंतर्गत आने का कहकर जल-विभाग के अधिकारी पल्ला झाड़ लेते हैं, ऐसा यंहा के वाशिन्दों का कहना है । ऐसे में व्यर्थ बहते पानी को बचाने वाला कौन धणी धोरी होगा । यह तो वक्त का पहिया बताएगा।
वंही दूसरी और राज्य सरकार ने बीकानेर जिले में पानी के लिए कई सारी योजनाओं की क्रियान्वयन के लिए बजट की घोषणाएं की । जंहा हाल ही में बीकानेर शहर व आसपास के 32 गांवों के लगभग तेरह लाख लोगों के लिए बीकानेर शहरी जल प्रदाय योजना के तहत जल संवर्धन कार्यों के लिए नगरीय विकास विभाग द्वारा ग्राम चकगर्बी में 353.07 बीघा भूमि का निशुल्क आवंटन किया गया है। इसके मद्देनजर सीएम अशोक गहलोत द्वारा वर्ष 2019-20 के बजट भाषण में 614.92 करोड़ रुपए की शहरी जल प्रदाय योजना की घोषणा की गई थी। इसके तहत शोभासर में 55 हजार लाख लीटर क्षमता का रिजर्व वायर, साथ ही पूरे शहर और आसपास के क्षेत्र में नई पाइपलाइन बिछाने, 15 उच्च जलाशय तथा 80 हजार नए पेयजल कलेक्शन दिए जाने हैं।
