विशिष्ट लोक अभियोजक एडवोकेट सुमेर सिंह बेड़ा ने कहा कि जघन्य अपराधों में फांसी की सजा का प्रावधान है। न्यायालय ने इस मामले को भी ऐसा ही प्रकरण माना। इससे पहले गुरुवार को नागौर पॉक्सो विशेष कोर्ट ने 7 साल की मासूम बच्ची से रेप के बाद हत्या के मामले में आरोपी मुंहबोले मामा दिनेश को दोषी करार दिया था। विशिष्ट लोक अभियोजक एडवोकेट सुमेर सिंह बेड़ा ने बताया कि 11 दिन तक रोज सुनवाई चली। इस दौरान मामले में पीड़िता पक्ष की तरफ से 29 गवाहों के और बचाव पक्ष की तरफ से एक गवाह के बयान करवाए गए थे। इसके अलावा बचाव पक्ष के वकील की डिमांड पर डॉक्टर्स टीम के द्वारा आरोपी की मेंटल कंडीशन की जांच भी करवाई गई।

पादूकलां थाना पुलिस ने घटना के तुरंत बाद ही आरोपी दिनेश को गिरफ्तार कर लिया था। पकड़ में आते ही आरोपी दिनेश ने पूछताछ में अपना जुर्म कबूल लिया। पुलिस ने 21 सितंबर को अपहरण, पॉक्सो, मर्डर और रेप की धाराओं के तहत मुकदमा दर्ज कर जांच शुरू की थी। इसके बाद प्रकरण से जुड़े सभी गवाहों के बयान और दस्तावेज तैयार किए गए। 27 सितंबर को पुलिस ने सभी आरोपों में जुर्म प्रमाणित मान मेड़ता स्थित पॉक्सो कोर्ट में आरोपी दिनेश के खिलाफ चार्जशीट पेश कर दी थी।
