टाटा ग्रुप के पूर्व चेयरमैन साइरस मिस्त्री की मर्सिडीज कार अहमदाबाद-मुंबई हाईवे पर लेन बदलते समय सूर्या नदी के पुल से टकराई थी। हादसे के समय कार ड्राइव कर रहीं डॉक्टर अनायल के पति डेरियस पंडोले ने पुलिस को दिए बयान में हादसे की यही वजह बताई है। मिस्त्री की 4 सितंबर को अहमदाबाद से मुंबई आते समय कार एक्सीडेंट में मौत हो गई थी।
पंडोले ने पुलिस को बताया कि उनकी पत्नी कार को हाईवे की थर्ड लेन में चला रही थीं। पुल के पास सड़क संकरी हो गई और थर्ड लेन सेकेंड लेन में मर्ज हो गई। पुल से पहले साइरस की गाड़ी के आगे चल रही एक कार ने लेन बदली। मर्सिडीज ड्राइव कर रही अनायता ने भी सेकेंड लेन में जाने की कोशिश की, लेकिन वहां एक ट्रक चल रहा था। इस वजह से वह ऐसा नहीं कर सकीं।
इस हादसे में टाटा संस के पूर्व चेयरमैन मिस्त्री (54) और उनके दोस्त जहांगीर पंडोले की मौत हो गई थी। गाड़ी चला रहीं डॉक्टर अनायता (55) और उनके पति डेरियस को गंभीर चोटें आई थीं। डेरियस पंडोले को इलाज के बाद पिछले हफ्ते छुट्टी दे दी गई थी, जबकि अनायता अभी भी अस्पताल में भर्ती हैं।

पालघर के पुलिस अधीक्षक बालासाहेब पाटिल ने बताया कि दरीयस पंडोले का बयान दर्ज कर लिया गया है। दक्षिण मुंबई में उनके घर जाकर डेढ़ घंटे तक स्टेटमेंट रिकॉर्ड किया गया। उन्होंने कहा कि पंडोले को 4 सितंबर की घटना तुरंत याद नहीं आ सकी थी, जिसमें उनके भाई और साइरस मिस्त्री की मौत हुई थी, जबकि वे और उनकी पत्नी गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए थे।
महिला डॉक्टर के ठीक होने का इंतजार
बालासाहेब पाटिल ने बताया कि इस मामले में अभी कार चला रहीं डॉक्टर अनायता पंडोले का बयान दर्ज नहीं हो सका है। उनके ठीक होने के बाद ही पुलिस उनका बयान रिकॉर्ड कर सकेगी। वहीं पुलिस को मर्सिडीज बेंज कंपनी की अंतिम रिपोर्ट का भी इंतजार है।
